Code Vein 2's Hot Springs aren't decorative. Each one unlocks two crafting recipes when entered — vaccine crafting options that let you synthesise consumables directly countering specific status effects from bosses.
There are 9 Hot Springs total, and collecting all 12 unlockable recipes alongside the Master Bather trophy and achievement requires visiting every one.
All locations are tracked on MapMaster's Code Vein 2 interactive maps.
Hot Springs serve four practical purposes beyond the recipe unlocks. They recover 50% of the Haze you dropped on your last death — an alternative to making a dangerous run back to a boss arena or hazardous area.
You lose the other half, but that beats risking a second death and losing everything.
They also remove the Stain debuff — a status effect that accumulates as you fight tougher enemies, causing black ichor marks that permanently reduce your max HP by 20% until cleansed.
A rare consumable can remove it in the field, but Hot Springs do it for free. Finally, entering a spring lets you interact with Steam Memories — visual recaps of the Timeline Decisions you've made, useful for understanding why specific story states are active.
Your character switches to a Spa Outfit automatically on entering any Hot Spring. Different outfit variants can be unlocked through the game's NPC systems.
This is the main reason to hunt every spring. Each Hot Spring you enter adds two vaccine recipes to your crafting options at any Mistle:
These vaccines are particularly effective against specific boss status attacks — the recipes from each spring correspond loosely to the threats in its surrounding region.
As you fight more powerful enemies, your character accumulates black ichor stains. Once the Stain meter fills, your total maximum HP drops by 20% — a permanent penalty until removed.
Hot Springs are a reliable way to clear this debuff without spending rare consumables.
If you notice your health ceiling dropping mid-run, locate the nearest Hot Spring rather than pushing through at reduced capacity.
Characters like Holly and Craig will bring you to Hot Springs during their main story quests and Requests.
These visits do not count toward the Master Bather trophy.
You must enter each spring manually during free roaming for the visit to register. If you completed Holly's story missions at the Sanatorium Baths but the trophy hasn't unlocked, return and soak in each of the four baths individually.
